Pretty Things!

I recently bought some new cold processed, natural soaps from Etsy.  I'm actually interested in making my own soap and skin creams in the future. So I thought I'd buy some and try them out. I purchased from two different sellers. One seller was on vacation, and still has not processed the order yet--because she is out the country. I'm not really impressed by that. But I didn't cancel the order because I want soaps from two different soap makers to compare. I chose two sellers whose products and packaging looked high quality.

The second seller, whose soap I've received, ships from Thunder Bay, Canada. I am delightfully pleased with her very lovely products.

These are very delightful products. The soap was $6.50, the four ounce body cream was $8.50, and shipping from Canada for both items was $9.50.  While walking around my neighborhood, I decided to photograph some very beautiful flowers I saw while walking.....

Flowers from Mom's Garden

I took these pics back in January while visiting my parents in Florida.  These pics are from my mom's own front yard.

The Crane Hotel in Barbados!

I recently visited the lovely island of Barbados.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to explore and enjoy much of the island--because I was there for only three days to celebrate one of my dearest friends' wedding. But I plan to visit at another time for sure.

A little bit of this...

I was feeling hungry. So I stopped at Fish & Sip on Flatbush Avenue since I was in Brooklyn. I got the grilled grouper with two sides.  It was just as good as I remember it:

Today, my mom (who's vegan) whipped up some beans and rice. I added some kale for color and bulk:

Central Park Aug 1, 2014

Central Park in New York is one of my favorite places. Besides being a beautiful place with lakes, bridges and birds, it's also a very serene place to relax. I go there with others or sometimes by myself. The park is always occupied in the summer, so you never feel cut off or isolated. But there are many paths within the park where you can just be by yourself and take in the sounds of chirps nearby (as well as the street traffic).
